Thunderyu: What is this? Let me out to kill them. I must kill them. Where are they? Why can't I feel them? I must find them and tear them apart, yes. Why did I not reach the fiery one? The fiery one must die. I must kill him, kill him, with lightning and air and cold flames and then the icy one as well…

Volcaryu: WHERE AM I WHERE ARE THEY WHERE CAN I FIND THEM I MUST FIND THEM AND KILL THEM AND RIP THEM TO SHREDS

…they have one-track minds, those dragons, don't they? (And Volcaryu has no idea Carl caught him and even less of an idea what a trainer is; he's never been let out of his ball, so he couldn't have given much of an answer to that question either.)

Chaletwo: Well, at the time it seemed… more interesting. Giving them a purpose that they could rise to when they awoke, instead of having them just be there. And it would gather the other legendaries' attention. After all, I was doing it all to prove what I could do because I was young and stupid. Stop trying to make sense of me when I was young and stupid. <_<

Thunderyu: Kill them, kill them both. @-@

Yeah, I don't think they ever thought that far. :P

Scyther: I don't know. I hope we'll return there eventually, but I could never stay. As for females, I think I'm done with them.

Well, they'd be free from the preprogrammed priority of thinking about that and would probably be able to calm down, start thinking and speaking coherently and generally just blend in with the other legendaries, presuming they'd be allowed to.

Thunderyu: Must kill them, kill them, with lightning and air and storms and find them…

Volcaryu: TEAR THEM APART

In other words, no. :P

Chaletwo: Uh, I… suppose at full power I might be able to remove that element from them, with Mew's guidance. Yes, I guess I'll try that.

So what exacley ran through the dragon's minds when evreyone attacked them. Surely they couldn't be thinking the whole time MUST KILL THEM!

Just a random burst of curosity.
They don't really think. You're thinking of them as fully sapient, but they really aren't. There are creatures attacking them; they perceive the creatures as a threat and attack back, while still only looking forward to their chance to seek out the others and kill them. They don't really have the mental capacity to think about what's going on, wonder why they're being attacked or what the Pokémon are.

Think of them as… bees or something. Their sole purpose is to kill one another, just like the sole purpose of worker bees is to gather honey; it's just what they do. If they perceive something as attacking them, however, they will fight it, because being attacked and incapacitated gets in the way of further honey-gathering. Except the dragons don't kill themselves when they fight back.

Speaking of the dragons, why exactly did Polaryu escape early? I just don't understand it.
Chaletwo is always getting weaker, since the Destroyer keeps draining his power away. Eventually, the power keeping Polaryu asleep became so weak that he simply woke up. Chaletwo didn't feel it happening because Polaryu had stopped feeling the existence of the others through his sleep and thus wasn't actively struggling against the power that kept him asleep anymore.

Monarking: I do not expect a reward when I save lives.

Thunderyu is the only one of them that has referred to the others by those names, which aren't actually names so much as descriptions: you'll notice they weren't capitalized when Thunderyu used them. The point is they don't know one another's names, but have mental images of the others. If the others were to label Thunderyu in a similar way, it might be "the yellow one" or "the golden one" or "the one with the gems", but likewise, there is nothing to say that Volcaryu and Polaryu just are the fiery one and the icy one; they could just as well be the red one and the blue one, or the dark one and the white one, or the one with the plates and the one with the crystals.

In Thunderyu's head he's just "me". He has a mental image of himself like everyone else, but still wouldn't think of himself internally as anything other than just "me".

Monarking to SilverLatios47: I have a purpose out here. If I were captured, I could not serve it.

May: Feh, critical hits. It would be neat, but it's sort of cheap and luck-based. Not my thing.

Chaletwo: No. They were straining against it even while already asleep and I could hardly keep them down; putting them back to sleep once awake would have required a lot more power which I simply don't have right now.

Wow, almost a year old thread. Um, I'm assuming that it's still okay to bump this since it's linked to in the Fic Art section and all? If not, I'm sorry.

So I've been a fan of this The Quest for the Legends for years now, and Butterfree's site in general. I have drawn the characters and Pokemon from the fic about a billion times by now, but when trying to email it, every time the same thing happened; I chickened out because I was a big fat wuss.

I've gotten better though, and since then I've realized that people do not in fact bite. I started reading this fic again and I still really like it, and that made me start drawing fan art again. This time I'm not afraid to post it though, so I figured you wanted to see it.

… I should probably shut up now and post the drat pictures.

Thunderyu
First one I did. I decided to keep things simple and just do coloring, then I decided to make some highlights in white for the heck of it. Later I realized that this is similar to the coloring style Pokemon Silver, Gold, and Crystal used, which I thought was kind of cool considering it was unintentional.

Volcaryu
Please ignore the misspelling in the url.
…. "GODZILLAAAA" kept going through my head and it was insanely tempting to draw a small building under its foot.

Polaryu
Not all that happy with this one, I'm not all that good when using soft, round shapes and Polaryu's face kept giving me trouble.

That's it for now, more to come later! I'm not going to post my old drawings, they're old and embarrassing to look at. I will try to draw more of these though!

Depends on what you call "are you still"; I haven't been writing it for years, but I would like to continue it at some point in the future.

They're not at any particular level.

May's Dad: How did your Meganium die?
May's dad: It… it was an accident. We were in a battle against this Typhlosion, and we were desperate to win, and… it's painful to remember.

Mark: What sparked your interest for legendary Pokémon? Also, how have your opinions on legendaries changed during your journey?
Mark: I dunno. I've just always found them pretty fascinating.

Sandslash: Have you ever had interest in taking part in a Pokéathlon or any other kind of event?
Sandslash: Maybe. I've never tried it before.

Gyarados: Do you prefer to be in your Pokéball or out of it, in the water.
Gyarados: I'd rather be out of it, but being in the ball isn't bad. It's just… stasis, where you feel fine but you can't do anything.

Gyarados (Again): Why did you eat those kids? They could have saved you!
Mew: Who was the last Destroyer?
Gyarados: I ate them because I was hungry and they were too temptingly close.

Mew: Who was the last Destroyer?
Mew: …I do not know. The Destroyer has always been a mystery.

May: Do you, in any way, blame yourself for Taylor's… (Passing? Moving on? Trip to Kindly Old Man Simmons's Farm? Sentence to the Great Metaphorical Illegal Cloning Facility in the sky?)death?
May: …

Alan: Do you, in any way, blame May for Taylor's Untimely passing to Kindly Old Man Simmons's Great Metaphorical Illegal Cloning Facility in the Sky?
Alan: Well, right now I don't even really know what happened.

Chaletwo: What was the Dragon who survived supposed to do then?
Chaletwo: I didn't think it that far at the time. As I keep saying, young and stupid.

Mitch and Sparky:Have you ever had the misfortune of a HUMAN dying in front of you and you couldn't do a thing about it?
Mitch: All too often. Poisons claim many lives even after the victims are taken to me.

Sparky: I was there when my mother died. It always sits with you; it's a very surreal experience.

Mitch and Sparky (again): If you were told that your town would be starved by earthquakes and pestilence assuming you don't give up your Gym and Pokémon to some random ten year old who was completely unqualified for the job, would you do it?
Mitch: Depends on who was telling me that and why.

Sparky: I think I'd assume they were playing a practical joke until proven otherwise.

Ms. Grodski: Were you glad when Mark left on his Pokémon Journey?
Mrs. Grodski: I'm glad to be rid of him, but I can't say I'm glad his parents let him on the journey. When will he learn if they just give in to him?

Molzapart: What evidence do you have to prove that you're not the Destroyer, hmm?
Molzapart: Evidence? Why would I be trying to stop the War if I were the Destroyer? That theory is nonsense from the ground up.

Chaletwo: Same as above.
Chaletwo: What? That's ridiculous. I'm trying to stop the War. I'm not the one that needs to present evidence here. When you produce baseless conjecture like that, the burden of proof is on you.

Mew: Same as above.
Mew. …I suppose there is no such evidence. But I am not the Destroyer.

Nurse Joy: When you see an injured / dead Pokemon, does it make you feel worse than seeing an injured / dead human?
Nurse Joy of Stormy Town: Well, I suppose there is a sense of responsibility when there's a Pokémon, since keeping them healthy is my job, but injured or dead humans are no laughing matter either.

Sparky: What's the weirdest thing anyone's ever ordered at your restaurant. Besides, of course, a Scyther ordering a bowl of beer.
Sparky: Usually people just order things off the menu, so I can't say there has been anything particularly weird, can I?

Phew.

The Talking Cheese, for future reference, yes, that was way too many questions, but I answered them anyway because I felt like it. Please don't ask so many questions again, and don't just ask a boatload of questions because you're bored; I have better things to do with my time than sitting here answering questions if you don't actually care about the answer.

Mark: Which oneof your Pokemon is your favorite?

May: Same.

Alan: Same.
Mark: Well, they're all different individuals. I can't exactly just pick a favorite.

May: Skarmory, but Skarmory's my favorite Pokémon in general.

Alan: They're living creatures! Having a favorite is like having a favorite family member. It's demeaning.

Anyone who can answer: Has Champion Cave changed at all since, oh, say, a month and a half before the league battles started?
Chaletwo: I don't think so. It may be that the Nevermeltice crystals that grew in Polaryu's presence are keeping it cold now.

Chaletwo: Assuming everything goes well and the war is avoided, what are you going to do about your dragon trio afterward? Do you have a better idea than having them stuck inside pokéballs for all eternity?
Chaletwo: I… guess I can try to reprogram them somehow, if I'm back at full power.

EDIT: Oops, forgot these, it looks like.

Mark's Charizard: Do Pokémon become depressed or are capable of experiencing appropriately similar symptoms to the affliction humans call "depression?"
Charizard: I think so. I wouldn't know how humans experience it, but…

Scyther: When eating prey, do you have any favorite portion of its body?
Scyther: Depends on the prey. Some parts are tastier on one Pokémon than another.

Rick: Where is Mewtwo2 now?
Rick: That's none of your business.

May: Is there anything specific you hope to find in the Ouen Safari? If so, what?
May: I… don't know. Nothing special, I think.

Because they made this.

I want to flail and put it everywhere, but I'll settle for putting it here (and also in the fic art section when the internet cooperates).
