The Quest for the Legends

May: Well, that depends on what my opponents will be using and what the themes of the arenas will be.

Taylor: My team's Raitwo, Mewtwo^2, Feraltwo, Shiftwo and Sciztwo.

Rick: One of the Mew clones. Never should have used the real one.

Heh, I wondered if I should be looking up how much pressure it ought to take to crush him and calculating how realistic this was, but laziness won out with the consideration that "eh, Tyranitar are pretty heavy, right?" Definitely should have thought that through better.

Also, I spent most of the chapter WTF-ing over why nobody seemed to find it odd that Taylor was lurking in the rocks spying on them for no apparent reason; when you explained it, it's obvious why May would be expecting him, though I would have thought Mark would have been a bit more miffed when Taylor randomly appeared.

I did worry it would strike readers as strange, but thought the revelation of where they'd been worked a lot better afterwards, so I hoped it just wouldn't make people wonder too much before it came to that point. You have a very good point about Mark, though; he ought to be a lot more baffled there and there's plenty of time to describe it. Definitely something to add in.

The idea was that Taylor had teleported with Mewtwo^2, yes (actually to be explained in chapter 54), which was also why he wasn't followed there by a mob of paparazzi and his hatedom.

(And if tyranitar is all about making May happy, why did he disobey a direct order, even if May had previously said the guy had to die?)

His reasoning went something like this: May has talked a lot about how much she hates Taylor and how he needs to die; she seemed happy at first when I was advancing on him; she seemed very reluctant to tell me to come back and only did it because he ordered her to; meanwhile, she thought I was just scaring him so she didn't know I was planning something she was going to like; therefore, she'll still be happy when I do it and she won't want me to come back because he'll be dead so she doesn't need to follow his orders anymore.

Which is pretty effed up logic, of course, but he's pretty effed up.

Why, yes, I will have much fun with Rick.

Seriously, stop it with the attempts to hug Tyranitar or whatever. He's not there. He doesn't speak to or desire company from anyone but May. He doesn't give a damn about you, or about hugs, or about his sexiness.

Also stop trying to provoke May, because she is not listening to you.

Mew: I could sense that they were both broken and insane, but the other seemed more so. He will not capture me if I can help it.

If you were to write a spin off or one shot revolving around a human character, who would it be? Timeline wise, how would it relate to TQFTL?

Possibly Sparky as a kid with his father and dying mother, or on his Pokémon journey with Nurse Joy. That or Rick. I actually toyed with writing a one-shot about his anxiety over Mew just before he gave it to Mark ages ago. Or, as I kind of wanted to when I was writing chapter 46, about when Taylor calls him from the League whining for a sixth clone. Or possibly about his brittle sanity cracking when he finds out about Taylor's death, though I worry I couldn't write that well enough.

"Ask God" would sound rather self-important, wouldn't it? Especially to people who haven't been to TV Tropes, who wouldn't get the reference.

Mark: Which oneof your Pokemon is your favorite?

May: Same.

Alan: Same.

Mark: Well, they're all different individuals. I can't exactly just pick a favorite.

May: Skarmory, but Skarmory's my favorite Pokémon in general.

Alan: They're living creatures! Having a favorite is like having a favorite family member. It's demeaning.

Anyone who can answer: Has Champion Cave changed at all since, oh, say, a month and a half before the league battles started?

Chaletwo: I don't think so. It may be that the Nevermeltice crystals that grew in Polaryu's presence are keeping it cold now.

Chaletwo: Assuming everything goes well and the war is avoided, what are you going to do about your dragon trio afterward? Do you have a better idea than having them stuck inside pokéballs for all eternity?

Chaletwo: I… guess I can try to reprogram them somehow, if I'm back at full power.

Mark's Charizard: Do Pokémon become depressed or are capable of experiencing appropriately similar symptoms to the affliction humans call "depression?"

Charizard: I think so. I wouldn't know how humans experience it, but…

Scyther: When eating prey, do you have any favorite portion of its body?

Scyther: Depends on the prey. Some parts are tastier on one Pokémon than another.

Rick: Where is Mewtwo2 now?

Rick: That's none of your business.

May: Is there anything specific you hope to find in the Ouen Safari? If so, what?

May: I… don't know. Nothing special, I think.

Charizard and Gyarados: Would you like to be able to mega evolve?

Charizard: It could be nice, I suppose. I don't think that's likely to happen, though. Doesn't it need some special stones only found in another region?

Gyarados: No. I'm fine as I am.

Rick: Can any of your clone pokemon mega evolve?

Rick: …

Mew:Did you create Arceus?

Mew: No. Arceus was the Original One. He created Dialga and Palkia, and with them space and time. They live outside of the universe and do not take part in the War.

Chaletwo: Is it possible that Yveltal is the destroyer? It is the death pokemon after all and its signature move drains energy.

Chaletwo: That would have been a theory, but Yveltal has already been caught without problems and yet our power continues to be drained. It's most likely someone we don't know of.
