So how does Mark plan to reconcile his out-of-date-but-awesome-looking Pokédex with all the RSE/made-up Pokémon he's going to find?Reply: It's not out-of-date as in doesn't-have-all-the-Pokémon-in-it; the universe of this fic assumes all Pokémon have always been known. It's just technologically out of date, connecting with a later plot point.

P.S. Dialga is cute (as a baby, if it was ever one), so if you put it into the TQFTL, please don't kill it, okay? I like suicune too, and I already mentioned that. Also, you said that Rickwould have elemental stone pokémon, right? What about the legendaries? In the IALCOTN, what's going to happen? What precisely are you referring to by "other legendaries"? Other than what? Other than the canon legendaries and the fakes introduced so far? The Sinnoh legendaries? No to the former, yes to the latter.
Calling me Hlín is not rude. It is my name, after all. I said I'd rather not have people call me that online because it looks kind of stupid in the middle of English text (she was speaking Icelandic anyway) and it throws me off to suddenly see my real name while my brain is in my-name-is-Butterfree mode.
Dialga ordinarily dwells outside of the universe and does not take part in the War of the Legends; it is unlikely to appear, and if it does, they will not have to battle it.
Rick, in the IALCOTN, did go out to hunt for legendaries, but he just collected DNA samples to be able to clone them in secret; the only one he actually caught was Mew. However, this just means more of them have been captured by the other kids who are out to catch legendaries (readers seem spectacularly prone to forgetting that they exist). Whether the particular legendaries Mark has to catch will be reconsidered in the IALCOTN remains to be decided.
