Alan: Well, it just seems like the right thing to do. They deserve to have their own names to set them apart from other members of their species. It wouldn't sit right with me to call them the same thing I would call any other Pokémon.

Chaletwo: I'm nearing a thousand years old now, since Mew created me just after the last War of the Legends. When I was young and stupid I was a couple of years old at most.

Suicune and Polaryu are unavailable for answer; check the rules again. You can only ask characters who have physically appeared in the story (Polaryu hasn't) and are currently alive (Suicune isn't).

Chaletwo: Haven't I said this many times already? For one thing, if it were made public, the legendaries would probably hear of it and know to hide, making the search that much harder. And then there is the part where all sorts of shady trainers would be only too happy to use this as an excuse to seek out and capture legendaries, knowing they've been weakened, and then try to keep them after the War is over. Or, heck, they could be on the legendaries' side, help to hide them and protect them. We have to do this with a limited number of people we can trust. And I think I've explained this before, but the reason we picked kids is that most kids are active trainers. With an adult you never know if they released all their Pokémon years ago.

Ash to Scyther: I ended up winning a few, yeah. Most memorable… probably some of those adventures with raging legendaries and whatnot. Those always stand out a bit.

Weavile117, you cannot ask Chalenor anything, as he is both dead and has not had a speaking role in the story. But Arceus has pretty much sat in his own universe without communicating, yeah, mostly asleep.

Mark: Maybe. I guess traveling is inspirational to people, and I'd like to see the legendary birds and stuff when they've been freed, but I'm not too keen on traveling, at least by foot. Maybe I'll just get a car.

As for my Pokémon, well, they'll have to choose that for themselves.

May: He's not really close to anyone. Doesn't like to be touched except by me, doesn't speak, and pretty much ignores everyone else. But he battles well and is obedient, so I'm not complaining.

Mew: The legendaries? They always exist. After the War, the Creator's first job is to recreate the legendaries so that they can guard the Pokémon of the world and maintain balance in it. That is how it is and has always been.

Entei is a separate individual from Heatran, and he resides in Johto while Heatran guards Stark Mountain in Sinnoh. Some of their powers are similar, others not.

Chalenor was… a good friend. He was kind, caring, intelligent, courageous and loyal. I wish he weren't gone.

Diamond: It's pretty fun. I like it, as long as it doesn't last too long.

Vicky: *smiles mysteriously* That's for those who battle us to find out.

Has someone caught rotom consideting he could manipulate the pokeball and pc system
Rotom is capable of reproduction and therefore not a legendary and irrelevant. Has it been shown to manipulate Pokéballs and PC systems in the anime or what? If so, I guess it hasn't been caught. :P

How often do girls shave their legs?
No idea, to be honest. I don't, my mom doesn't, the only female friend I'd ever discuss that sort of thing with doesn't, and I personally cannot fathom why anyone would want to or can be bothered unless they make a point of wearing short skirts with bare legs on a daily basis, and then only because it's become a bizarre social norm for no good reason.

…So where would you like to go in America?
Mostly where my various Internet friends are.

May: *unimpressed*

Mutark: *wails unhappily*

Suicune: They have no responsibility. We simply expect them to stay alive with the gems unharmed until the War is over, and to ensure that, we had to select those that made the best use of their power and showed the skills to survive.

Mutark: *bats*

Charizard: *looking conspicuously away*

Suicune: We did not know about the War of the Legends at the time Chaletwo approached us. And in any case I still doubt his plan will work. Even in the unlikely case he manages to capture all of the legendaries - and without all of them, it's all for nothing - what happens to the Destroyer's energy? It is much safer to do it our way.

Do you think I like starving my subjects? No; I felt every shred of pain I put him through. But it was necessary, and instead, I gave him incredible power. If I do not live, I cannot guard the Water Pokémon in the future. It is good in their long-term interests.

Entei: A Pokéball might protect us just as well from the Destroyer, but submitting ourselves to the whim of the human who carries the ball? Hardly worth the risk. And what if the legendaries that remain merely find and destroy the Pokéballs? Protected only by human children, it would be easy, and we would be sent out again to die or go mad, but the soul gems are protected by powerful Pokémon, and should they be destroyed, there might still be time for us to be resurrected before our souls leave the world. In all respects it is safer than Chaletwo's silly idea, while the latter has no discernible advantages. This is not even a choice.

Chaletwo: I'm not Chalenor, and I am trying to save everyone, not just myself. Hiding in soul gems is all fine and dandy if you personally just want to be safe, but to prevent it altogether, you have to get everyone out of the influence of the Destroyer, which means forcibly capturing them since nobody agreed to do it willingly. So Pokéballs it is.

I admit I didn't personally think of soul gems back then, but it amounts to the same thing; I can't exactly force them all to create soul gems. Besides that it's a lot less convenient thanks to the part where the body dies. With Pokéballs, the body can be restored easily.

Mark: Um, not really. I just… draw, you know?

May: Fat chance. Somebody pop your overinflated ego with a needle.

Leah: Oh, I've caught Latias already. The only ones left now are Mew, the Waraider herd and the Color Dragons.

Used my Master Ball already too, actually. Mark probably needs his.

Just give it up. You're not going to get her name. (And you couldn't ask her anyway, since she's not a speaking character in the fic.)

Charlie: Um… I prefer being a Charmander, yeah, but I don't mind being a Charizard for things like big battles. And I don't like looking tiny next to my little brother.

Leah: Well, Chaletwo was all, 'oh, no, we can't tell them about it, because there would be chaos if they knew, etc.' Personally I don't see why they can't just communicate like intelligent beings and figure it out, but you know how those legendaries are.

Chaletwo: I don't see any need to erase their memories. I'd trust them to keep quiet about it after all this.

The clones can't be caught. They're a worrying factor in the equation, yes, but we'll just have to hope that at the moment of truth they'll be in their Pokéballs. There aren't a lot of Gym battles going on except in the summer, so the chance they won't be is at least reasonably small.

Chaletwo: You sound like Mew. I'm not resigning myself to it just because it might be fate or the will of nature or whatever. We can still fight it, and even if it's impossible to prevent it, we're no worse off having tried.

Molzapart: Well, yes. That's just a theory. It might also be possible to stop it, and so we try. Why shouldn't we?

Mew: Why do you ask me? I am not trying to stop it.

Chaletwo: I've already explained this. When the last of our power is taken by the Destroyer, that includes our true immortality. During the War, we are all equal.

(This is all in chapter 39.)

Mew to Rose: Then he would gain the power of the Creator again.

Please no bothering the characters about the fourth wall. It'll just confuse them.

Mew: The Destroyer drains all of the power of all the legendaries before the War begins. The power they have to fight with is distributed evenly between them.

Anyway, I have another question. What happens to Dialga and Palkia in the War? Have they ever been in a War?
Aaaand this one is in the FAQ.

Mew: Then how could you have possibly won? Wouldn't the legendaries with higher defense and attack stats have the upper hand?
What part of "evenly distributed" is not getting through? o_O In game terms, every legendary during the War would have double the average of all of the legendaries' Attack, double the average of all the legendaries' Defense, and so on. If anything, Mew has an inherent advantage, because Mew can learn an unusually great number of moves, and those are not affected by the redistribution of the power.

Yeah, the Destroyer makes a bit more sense now. But I'm standing by my posts in 'ask the characters' because if the Destroyer drains Power, and Power is used for moves like Ember or Razor Leaf (moves that utilize sp attack), legendaries with higher attack or defense would win. "Everyone can Tackle", to quote Morphic. What I mean is, physical attacks would stay at full strength, because they consume no Power, and the Destroyer drains only Power. So, if I was, say, Groudon, and I was facing up against Mew, against whom I have no type advantage, I wouldn't start blasting fire at Mew, I'd crush her. My attack would be valuable to me in the War of the Legends than my Power.
There are three things wrong with this argument.

The first is that you're out of nowhere assuming that physical attacks in general don't use power. Every single official, capitalized move, except stuff like Splash and Struggle, uses power. Everyone can tackle (as per the example of the Mystery Dungeon standard attack), but not everyone can Tackle. For physical attacks, power is employed to exert more force on the opponent than physics would dictate for the given mass and momentum, hence why a tiny Nidoran Double Kicking a Snorlax can potentially do crazy damage if the Nidoran just happens to be high-leveled enough compared to the Snorlax.

The second problem is that during the War, the legendaries are ridiculously powerful. Non-power-enhanced attacks are going to be laughable in comparison to even the most careless throw of actual power you can manage. Of course you're going to blast fire at Mew, or at least use your power for a Body Slam, instead of just pointlessly holding it all back.

Thirdly, and most glaringly, you're also making the unwarranted assumption that defense has nothing to do with power, when in fact it has everything to do with it. Pokémon have supernatural endurance, pain tolerance and recovery abilities, and that's all thanks to power. This means that by the time the War of the Legends comes along and the legendaries are all ridiculously powerful as noted before, Mew wouldn't even feel Groudon stepping on it. Groudon would need to use power to stand a chance.
